The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must fulfill the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house that has a combined gross domestic earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic income isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with nsfas application combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the right Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or intend to study in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not my nsfas to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
